I define success as someone who can get far in life with what they have to work with and they don’t let obstacles get in their way.
Edgar Wright has become very successful in the film industry. He directed some pretty amazing movies and has inspired a lot. He didn’t go to film school but he still made it far.
Skills for Success
Edgar Wright is a 1) good film maker, 2) successful student and 3) musically and sound driven person. Edgar starting directing films in the late 1980s. He did very good in his early life, “Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, he directed many short films, first on a Super-8 camera that was a gift from a family member and later on a Video-8 camcorder that he won in a competition on the television programme Going Live.” – Wikipedia. He eventually attended attended the Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design from 1992 to 1994. During the time he attended, he received an ND in Audio-Visual-Design.
How They Used These Skills
Edgar’s career really started in 1995 when he made his first feature film A Fistful of Fingers. The film caught the attention of comedians Matt Lucas and David Williams, because of this Edgar started directing other films and even worked on BBC programs. In some of his later work you can see how much music inspired the films and how the films are based around it.
Challenges Overcome
Edgar Wright originally wanted to be an animator. He won a BBC competition when he was seventeen for his claymation short I Want To Get Into The Movies from 1991 but he decided that he wanted to do live action movies instead. His original plan didn’t work out and he changed the way he did his movies and became very successful.
